Even if you think it's bad, can you at least make the rest of us feel better by telling us you spent three weeks working late into the night every day on this? I would kill to be able to draw like this.... <3

Thank you :)

I don't remember really, this was done quite a long time ago - it was one of those lucky shots where everything works and all. I just went a bit lazy on the BG.

And for drawing like this - bro, believe me when I say its just practice. You already have part of the structure solid, so just keep pushing and you will get better in time. Try to draw head in angles; read on how to do that and try to figure it for your own too. Work a bit on fleshing details like the teeth gum and such; How the eye socket is really deeper in the skull. It can take a while, but it will be worth it. :) Don't get too frustrated along the way, and you should be doing good in no time :)

Also, one of the big secrets is to look how artists "solved" their challenges on every image. How did they draw a mouth or a talon. This is your toolbox to get your own images better.

Copy other works as practice, but not tracing them - place them on your screen and try to draw on paper. Learn what each line does for what - and in no time your own drawing should be more developed too.

Just a few tips :)
Feel free to contact me if you need anything else! I might take a while to answer, but I will do when I get time.

Oh wow, thanks for the tips! I didn't expect that at all! I'll definitely work on that stuff when I have the time, whenever that is. XP More often than not, I just have time to sketch something and walk away, then come back later and maybe get to finish it. Right now I'm just working on getting different angles mastered, since the profile view is waaay overused. Thanks again! :)
